A word about grade level and design:

The My Year Nature Journal is designed to serve students from kindergarten through about 4th grade. While not every page will be easy for a kindergartener to do independently, every month plan will have something for everyone. The re-use-ability value of this resource is high. You can print this journal and use as many years as you like and there will always be something new to discover.

You’ll notice the design is not the “typical” elementary style of chunky cartoons and bubble-letter fonts. I believe, as Charlotte Mason did, that children of all ages benefit from exposure to beauty, and will rise to the expectations set by design. This journal will easily become a keepsake showcasing a full year of exploration and expression.

Do you want to skip the hassle of printing? Do you need only one or two copies or want a beautifully bound nature journal that will be a keepsake for years to come? The paperback My Year Nature Journal is now available.

Rebecca Grabill

Rebecca has been writing since childhood, her first book about a kitten published between homemade cardboard covers in second grade. Although she studied religion and philosophy in university, she continued writing, earning an MFA from Hamline University and publishing multiple picture books (no longer with homemade covers) and a collection of poetry with a variety of New York and independent publishers. She has also published a wide array of fiction, essays, and poetry in magazines and journals and photographs for Getty Images. She balances writing with homeschooling the younger of her six children, launching her young adults, church activities, and overseeing a small flock of chickens in rural West Michigan.
