Wednesday is our insanely busy day. School, appointments, and an evening of three dance classes and karate. What do I find on the counter on a brief return home?
An envelope with this inside!
Two copies of my first book, Halloween Good Night, published by Atheneum of Simon & Schuster! I grabbed the copies, rushed out the door, and stole glimpses during our crazy evening. And though it was late and Penny's bedtime bath was running, I gave her a moment to take a look.
Exciting! I LOVE Ella's illustrations - who'd ever imagine little zombies and mummies could be so cuddly cute? You can pre-order Halloween Good Night from Amazon below - release date is July 25th.
The very first copies of Halloween Good Night!!
I am so full of exclamation points! See, just this morning I was showing Maggie the cover art pdf. She, always attentive, noticed the little square on the back cover where the bar code will go. "What's that?"
I have a book cover, people! For my first-ever-to-be-published picture book, Halloween Good Night! Illustrated by the incredible Ella Okstad! Due out from Atheneum Books for Young Readers (a division of S&S) July, 2017! And the cover? IS FREAKING ADORABLE!!!!
I shared this in the News section of my website, but realized it could be fun to share here, too. Still working out what goes where, and whether I really need two separate "blog-like-things." Maybe I don't. Anyhow. I do for now. What I wrote over there...
I ambled over to my agent's website today (ok, hubby sent me a link) and discovered...
She'd shared the cover to Halloween Goodnight!
When the tax documents come from...
Long gone are the days of paper submissions and eager trips to the mailbox. It's electronic everything: Google docs, Dropbox
to the bank! Penny calls me Mama Pig, quite the honor because Peppa Pig is her all-time-favorite YouTube hero.
Here I am signing my first for-real-not-kidding coming in 2017 publishing contract!
The Publisher's Weekly announcement came out today. Now this is how I like to ring in a new year!
